Preschool
Welcome to Christ the Divine Teacher Catholic Academy’s Preschool Program. I know that we will have a very exciting year filled with new experiences, learning, and excitement. If you have any questions about the preschool program, please feel free to ask.
Have you heard? Pre-Kindergarten is going to five days a week next year (2010-2011 School Year). This will be held Monday - Friday 8:30-11:30. If five does doesn't fit into your schedule, you can also choose three days a week for your 4 year old child. This will be held at the same time (8:30-11:30) but on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. If your child will be four on or before September 1, 2010, and you would like to learn more information about our program, please email me, or contact the school office. Thanks!
Pre-4’s Daily Schedule (Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays) (8:45-11:15)
8:30-8:50 - Arrival. Coloring pages, puzzles, games, and activities.
8:50 – Circle Time: Stories, Religion story, songs, finger plays, calendar, etc.
9:05 – Letter Discoveries and Reading Readiness Activities
9:20 – Handwriting
9:30 – Math Activities
9:45 – Gross motor activities. (Gym time, dancing, exercises, etc.)
10:00 – Snack Time!
10:15 – Free Play!
10:35 – Art Time! Art time almost always coincides with the theme of the week.
10:50 – Religion, Science, Spanish, or Social Studies
11:10 – Reflection Time (Stories, songs, show and tell, etc.).
* This schedule is very flexible and can easily be changed.

* This schedule is very flexible and can easily be changed.
* Please note that there will no longer be a Pre-3's program during the 2010-2011 School Year. Instead, we will have a five day a week, Pre-Kindergarten program for all children who will be four years of age on or before September 1, 2010.
* If your child is not three or four by the cut off date, a readiness test will be given if you seek early admittance to the preschool program. Your child still must be fully potty trained in order to attend our preschool program.
* Both programs go throughout the year from Labor Day, until the last week in May.
Weekly Schedules: Each week, a weekly schedule will be posted with information about the weekly events. There, you can find the weekly schedules and all other events pertaining to the preschool.
Week of Feb. 22
Both classrooms will begin learning about Lent and prepare for Easter. The pre-4's will continue learning about the letter L, while the pre-3's will learn about the letter S.

Preschool Information:
* The Pre-4’s meet on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 8:45 – 11:15. All children who are four years old by August 31, 2009, can enter the Pre-4’s classroom.
* The Pre-3’s meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:45-11:15. All children who are three years old by August 31, 2009 can enter the Pre-3's classroom.
* All children in both classrooms must be fully potty trained before they are able to attend preschool. |
