READING Stories this week are "Riddle Dee Fiddle Dee Dee" and "Morris and Borris/The Riddles." The genre of the first story is riddles, the second story is a classic animal fantasy.
SPELLING Our words for the week are we, she, he, me, see, green, inside, and anything.
PHONICS The emphasis in reading and spelling this week is the sound of long e, and compound words.
MATH We are adding the quarter to our coins. When we practice counting different coins, we always start with the ones that are worth the most. It would be great if you could practice with your child at counting. Set up a little store where your child can buy, pay, and count the change.
SOCIAL STUDIES Endangered animals is our subject for this week. We will identify some of the animals that are endangered, discuss why they are endangered, then discuss ways to protect our natural resources that would in turn protect the animals and their habitats.
SCIENCE We continue to study fish.
